I am a dynamic 3D artist with a record of excellence in both 3D and 2D design.  I am highly knowledgeable in multimedia and design principles and an expert in using 3D software, namely Studio Max, Maya, Blender, Cinema4D, ZBrush, and Mudbox. Additionally, my skill set extends to the Adobe suite of products where I possess extensive experience and high-level proficiency.

Presently, I am managing my own consulting practice. My prior experience includes a position as a 3D Art Director at Playground Studio, a 3D Artist at CHE Proximity, along with valuable contributions in consulting and contract roles at ARES Group and Room One Design.

Professional experience

3D Art Director - Playground studio

2022 - 2024

Playground is a design studio located in South Melbourne. My primary responsibilities involve crafting both 3D and 2D assets tailored for diverse platforms with a key emphasis on print, website, and social media applications. Additionally, I collaborate closely with the rest of the design team, using my skills to contribute and enhance various projects wherever possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Translating briefs provided by clients or colleagues into comprehensive animations, bringing concepts to life through my creative and technical expertise.

  • Rapidly generate rough playblasts, providing a visual preview of the direction. This enables the creative director/clients to gain insight into the project's trajectory, promoting a flexible concept that can swiftly adapt to changes.

  • Project lead. I actively participate in client meetings, extracting comprehensive briefs and effectively communicating them to the team. I take on the responsibility of art directing imagery to ensure consistency throughout the project, contributing to a cohesive and unified visual narrative.

  • Accurately quoting for projects, ensuring that clients are billed appropriately and that we adhere to budget constraints. My approach helps in preventing any project from exceeding its allocated budget, contributing to financial efficiency and client satisfaction.

  • Delegating work strategically, whether to share the workload efficiently or assign tasks to individuals who are better suited for specific projects. This ensures optimal utilization of skills and enhances the overall effectiveness of the team.

    Achievements:

  • Built processes that enable a small team to operate at high efficiency. This involves maximizing the use of our time as 3D artists, ensuring that every moment during the work week is utilized effectively.

  • Mentoring the team.  Leveraging my specialized animation skills to educate and enlighten others. This knowledge-sharing initiative contributes to the overall growth and expertise of the team.

  • Taking on a leadership role.  I have assumed the responsibilities of a production manager, expanding my influence and contributions within a small team.

3D ArtisT - CHE Proximity

2015 - 2022

CHE is an advertising agency situated in South Yarra, Melbourne.  My main responsibility was the creation of new assets for both print and digital.

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of animations. This process begins with a hand in the concept stage. Once the desired concept has been achieved it is built through 3D programs and brought to life with sound.

  • Multimedia design work for existing projects.

  • Creation of new assets for upcoming cars. This is achieved by creating a new car through CAD and rendering or bringing a photo up to Australian standards and specifications.

  • Creating and developing design material (brochures, print material and digital assets) for clients.

  • Enhancing imagery in the postproduction cycle.

Achievements:

  • Successfully acquired the skills to take a brief from a client and turn it into a completed product.

  • Building animations from start to finish. Concept development, greyscale rendering, playblast through to final animation movie and sound.

  • Ability to multi task, working on multiple projects at the same time.

  • Ability to produce highly detailed work , in a fast paced environment which ensures deadlines are met and clients are happy.

  • Trained new contract staff with new techniques using 3D design.

  • Being an integral part of a team that brings new campaigns to Australia. Such as; brochures, advertising and digital assets.

retoucher/3d artist - Room One Design     

2013 - 2015

Room One Design specialise in product display cases.  They have a large customer base which include Swisse and Quicksilver.  My role was to take concepts and create 3D renderings of the finished product.  This included placing the clients product in the display case renderings, enabling clients to envision the final product.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the industrial design team to understand the dimensions and materials of the object required.

  • Creating professional renders for the team to send off to clients.

  • Modelling products from both technical drawings as well as photos of past display cabinets.

  • Texturing models with correct materials, as well as company branding and imagery.

  • Placing the final concept into an image of the store, to show clients how that display will look once complete.

Achievements:

  • Displayed strong time management skills as a result of undertaking several tasks at once which resulted in deadlines being met.

  • Achieved a high level of customer satisfaction as the customer was able to see what their display concepts would look like in their store without committing to the project.D
